Big Girl

Playing at the ArtsFest
Mary Elizabeth went for her 15 month checkup on April 20th. She measures 33 1/2 inches and weighes 33. 7 pounds. She says about 10 words that are recognizable: book, horse, molly, eye, ear, nose, toes, hi, bye, eat, more, dada, mama. Her favorite word is "Meow". I thnk she thinks that is what cats are! Every picture and cat she sees gets an automatic "meow." Pink- pink (pink stuffed bear) is her best sleeping friend. She knows when you say"let's go see pink-pink" it means bedtime or naptime. She also babbles constantly. She enjoys meeting new people everywhere we go. Books are almost an addiction recently. She wants one in her hands all of the time. She will sit and read all by herself and point to different things in each book. Playing pretend is also a favorite activity. M.E. likes to brush her hair, use a spoon to eat, try to put on her own shoes (or mine) and wash herself in the tub. Sleeping continues to go well (11 hours at night and a 2 hour nap each day). She has eaten many different things, but she may not like the same thing 2 days in a row! Chicken nuggets are almost always a hit though. I am really ready for summer so I can stay home and play with my girl!

Wedding

Scottie and Phillip got married on April 4th. The reception was at LuLu and Joe's house and we all had a blast! Mary Elizabeth enjoyed the band and took a turn on the dance floor with the beautiful bride. She also took the time to wave at her admirers!

March 1, 2009 Snow!

FFA Farm Day

Up close with a pig
Wishing the cow would come closer
Farm Day started with a parade of tractors down Main Street. Mary Elizabeth REALLY enjoyed watching the parade!

Mary Elizabeth clapped and cheered for everyone in the parade.

Mary Elizabeth had a great time waving at everyone that went by during the parade.

Playing outside

Mary Elizabeth is walking all over everywhere. Playing inside gets boring quickly, so if the weather is nice we head outdoors. ME loves to talk to the kitties and play with Molly. Her other favorite pasttime is picking up things she finds on the ground. Walking up a gravel driveway is very time consuming when you stop to examine every other rock!

First Haircut

Mary Elizabeth got her first haircut on Tuesday Feb. 10. Her bangs were down about the middle of her nose and she wouldn't leave a barrette in all day, so a trim was in order. I went prepared with goldfish and Polka Dot puppy. ME sat in my lap, enjoyed the goldfish and Ms Kathy trimmed her bangs. ME was a superstar! She didn't fuss and only wiggled when hair clippings were on her nose. We tried to take pictures, but in typical ME fashion smiling for a camera is nearly impossible! I thought this photo of her and Kathy was too cute.
