Pumpkin and birthdays cont.

Pumpkins and birthdays

Mike was out of town for the weekend, so it was "girl's only." Scottie came for a visit with her child "Sam." We celebrated Lea Ann and Jim's birthdays with dinner and a big cookie on Sunday evening. Pat, Jojo and Peggy came over for the party. When Mike got home he carved our pumpkin with a little help from M.E.

The piano

This picture was taken maybe a month or so ago, but I just got a copy and had to share! M.E. loves to sit with her great-grandmother Pat and play the piano.

Sunshine!

Saturday we braved the cold to visit the MES Fall Frolic. It was nice to not have any rain, but the wind was brutal. When the sun came through Sunday we went for a walk up the driveway and played on LuLu and Joe's porch. With a ponytail and rolled up jeans M.E. really looked like a little girl instead of a toddler!

New cousin

Mike's brother and his girlfriend Heidi had a little boy early this summer. After a busy summer Mary Elizabeth and I finally got to meet her new cousin, Blaise, this past Sunday. M.E. took awhile to warm up to the baby in the room, but once she was comfortable she wanted to hug and hold the baby! We had a nice visit with Poppy, B, Uncle David, Aunt Martha, Chris, Heidi and Blaise.

Oops

Mary Elizabeth had a 102 fever and a cough Tuesday afternoon at school, so we were afraid she was getting sick. I got a sub for Wed. and we stayed home. Turns out she just has a cold and cutting 4 two-year old molars at once probably caused the fever. Regardless we got to stay home and play. M.E. was looking for a toy when she accidentally fell in her "toy corner" of our living room. She said "Uh oh" at first then realized it was a good place to be!

Fire Prevention Parade

We went to the Fire Prevention Parade downtown this morning and had a great time. It was really loud, but M.E. enjoyed seeing the fire trucks and collecting candy. She hasn't had any candy yet, but she liked collecting it and holding it. I wonder how long I can keep her from realizing what candy really is!
