Molly

Molly started the holiday by going for a spa day. Since then she has gotten to stay in the main part of the house with us. Mary Elizabeth has had a great time having tea parties with Molly!

Christmas Day

Christmas morning started at our house. Santa brought a new kitchen, Dora backpack (with Dora, Swiper and Boots), Dora books, Max and a Max and Ruby book. M.E. had a great time playing with her new stuff! Then we headed to LuLu and Joe's to open stockings (Santa brings all the stockings to LuLu's) and presents. New stuff included a tricycle from LuLu and Joe, a shopping cart from Scottie and Phillip, a farm from Pat and Jojo, a school bus from Annie and Jim, a book from Holder and Kendra and new PJ's from Peggy. After the excitement of the morning we took M.E. home for a nap. After nap we headed to Poppy and B's for dinner and presents. New stuff at Poppy and B's included a new wagon and a baby stroller. All in all I don't think the day could have been any better!

Recent accomplishments

Mary Elizabeth is growing and changing so fast. She can sing her ABC's and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star all by herself. In fact, she insists on doing it herself! She went to her first friends birthday party and I couldn't have been more proud of her. It is really hard to watch a friend open new toys and just sit and watch patiently. Santa Claus also paid a visit to the party and M.E. sat in his lap and talked to him. I have high hopes for a real Santa picture this year! She also enjoys playing with her Little People nativity set, and for those of you who didn't know, it is actually Joseph, Baby Jesus and Mary Elizabeth! Just ask my girl and she will tell you!

Fantasy in Lights

We had a great trip to Callaway Gardens this year. M.E. is the best little traveler. She played and visited with us during the ride to Callaway. It shocks me how happy she is during a car trip! We got to the Gardens and went to the beach and played at the playground for awhile, then we went and had lunch at the golf clubhouse. Once we got a room we tried to get M.E. to take a nap, but she wasn't interested. Mike and M.E. went on a walk/stroller ride while LuLu and I went shopping in Pine Mountain. Once we returned it was time to head to dinner (or so we thought). We tried to have dinner at the lounge in the new hotel, but they were overwhelmed, so we settled for getting M.E. takeout and off we went to see the lights! The lights were beautiful as always and M.E. had a great time. After seeing the lights we headed back to the hotel and Mike and I got M.E. ready for bed while LuLu and Joe went to get the grownups dinner. M.E. and I watched Rudolf for a little while then she happily went to bed in her play yard bed. She slept all night! The next morning we ate breakfast in the Plant Room and went to the Gardens to visit the Butterfly Center and Sibley Horticultural Center. We had some excitement at the Butterfly Center when an owl butterfly tried to land on M.E. She freaked! I have to admit the butterfly was the size of a smal bird, so it must have been scary to her. I have never seen her so scared, EVER! I hope she doesn't develop a phobia! We loaded up around lunch time to head home. After a snack lunch in the car M.E. snoozed for most of the trip. We had a great time and I can't wait to take her on more adventures. She is a good travel buddy.

Christmas is here!

The Christmas season started with a visit to the Christmas parade. While M.E.'s patience didn't last through the parade she really did enjoy walking up and down Main Street and visiting with everyone. She loved listening to the community band play Christmas music. We put the tree up this past Sunday and it was a huge hit. M.E. loves the tree and ornaments. She had to tell the tree good night before she would go to bed! We finished the day Sunday by watching the 1960's Rudolf classic and M.E. is a true fan. She was glued to the tv throughout and asked to watch it after school today. It is going to be a great Christmas!

Loving Jojo

Pat and Jojo came to play one day last week and Mary Elizabeth climbed up in Jojo's lap to hug. Grandparents are good but I think great-grandparents are the best!

Little Momma

Mary Elizabeth has been really excited about caring for her baby lately. We spend a great deal of time dressing the baby, feeding the baby and unfortunately abusing the baby!

Horse show!

Doodle and I attended our second show on Nov 15. Doodle was a good girl and improved her score (58%) from her first show. Mary Elizabeth has a great time as well!

It's great to be a kid!

Just a few random shots from the past week or so that made me realize how great life is! To get the giggles because you have a bucket on your head, or be excited to help mom at the barn or content hanging out with dad (as dad sleeps!) is great!!
