Jojo's 85th birthday

Zoo trip

We had a great trip to the zoo Wednesday with Scottie. After our Spring Break trip I was better prepared to trek around the zoo. We took the Radio Flyer wagon and a soft side cooler and we were set! We saw all of the animals, rode the train and ME had her first carousel ride. The carousel was a huge hit!

Fun afternoon

Thursday afternoon we headed to Lulu's to go for a late swim. Lulu got home from work while we were there and joined us in the pool. When we got home after our swim Mike was in the backyard mowing grass. ME quickly got him engaged in a game and they had a great time! ME also showed off her dancing skills. I have no idea where this dance fascination has come from but she is dancing at any chance she gets.

No! I am ...

Mary Elizabeth has a funny new habit. I (and the rest of my family) often call ME by pet names. It doesn't matter what you call her, cutie, pretty girl, monkey, etc. she responds with "No! I'm Mary Lizbeth House!" She is adamant about this and we are all finding it histerical!

First swim of the summer

ME and I had our first swim of the summer last week. She is so much happier in the water this year. She likes to kick, blow bubbles and ride in her float. When we were done we sat in the grass and enjoyed a post-swim snack!

Visit to the organic farm

A friend of mine has started an organic farm in Montevallo. She is raising a little of everything, from bees to donkeys to gardening. ME loved the goats and chickens the best. The baby goats were bottle fed, so they were like little puppies to play with.

Visit to Springstone Equestrian

Thursday June 10th we went to visit my friend Heather and her daughter Honor at Heather's farm. ME had a great time playing with Honor! Heather is probably my oldest friend, so it is neat that our girls can play together now!

Storytime Live!

Mike, ME and I went to see Nick Jr's stage show, Storytime Live this past Wednesday at the BJCC. I was nervous to take a 2 1/2 year old to an 1 1/2 hour show, but I should not have been! ME was a star. She laughed and interacted with the characters at all the appropriate times and otherwise sat watched the show like a big girl. I even got her to potty during intermission! The worst part was leaving becasue she didn't want it to be over. She is still talking about it and wore her t-shirt to bed that night and all day the next day. Gross I know, but hey I pick my battles. She went into meltdown mode when I finally took the shirt off last night. All in all it was a great experience and I can't wait to take her to see more shows.

Fun in the new house

Mary Elizabeth is enjoying her new place. The front room has become a real playroom for all of her stuff! She loves to entertain her favorite guests (Pat and JoJo). Snack time is even better on the new couch watching her favorite shows.

Memorial Day 2010

Mary Elizabeth has settled into her new routine at the new house quite nicely. We enjoyed Memorial Day in the new backyard. Mike worked on installing a fence and ME and I colored with sidewalk chalk and played in the grass.
