Growing up fast!

Day one Mary Elizabeth weighed in at 8 lbs 14 ozs and 21 inches long.
By month 2 she was 16 lbs 4 ozs and 24 inches.
Now at 4 months Mary Elizabeth is 20 lbs 9 ozs and 27 inches. She is growing up so fast!

First cereal

We got the go ahead at the doctor's office to try oatmeal cereal! Mary Elizabeth wasn't quite sure what we were doing, but she was watching and waiting.

The first bite didn't get much of a reaction.
She was so funny! She would lean forward and pull my hand towards her, but after she had a bite she made a terible face and pushed the cereal out of her mouth. I think she is going to catch on to this cereal thing quickly!

Summer is here

I don't know who is happier that summer is here, me or Mary Elizabeth! After LuLu went to workout she stopped and got Mary Elizabeth around 7:30, then I was able to go to the barn and ride. Mary Elizabeth visited with Joe while he ate breakfast, then she and LuLu had time for a quick "photo shoot". When I had finished at the barn Mary Elizabeth was taking her nap, so LuLu took the monitor outside so she could go for a swim and I went for a walk. I have a doctor appointment and some errands to run this afternoon, so we are getting ready to leave. I hope the rain holds off until we get home.

First swimming adventure

The pool was perfect and we had all the baby swimming stuff ready, so we decided to see what Mary Elizabeth would think. She was not impressed with having to put on a swim suit. It was a little snug for her tastes, but she was happy once it was on. Mike held her for her first dip in the pool. Mary Elizabeth was so serious! She just studied the water and watched everything that was going on. The swim float was a hit. It is still a little big, but she could lay back in it or prop forward with her arms over it. We stayed in the water for about an hour and she seemed to really enjoy it. I am glad she liked the pool because we spend a lot of time swimming during the summer. Mary Elizabeth is all set to join us with her diaper swim pants, sunscreen, swim suit and float. The only thing that worries me is I took so much to Mom's house for a short swim, how will we ever fit everything in the car for a 4 day trip to the beach!

I'll give it a try!

Okay I keep hearing that I should try out this blogging thing, so here it goes! Mary Elizabeth joined our family on January 18, 2008 and we have enjoyed everyday since. She is now just over 4 months old and growing like a weed. Mike and I did really well in the baby department. Mary Elizabeth eats well, sleeps 10 hours a night and is generally a relaxed and happy baby. School got out Friday, so I hope to record all of our summer activites on the blog for our family and friends to enjoy. We had baby dedication at church on Mother's Day. Mary Elizabeth looked like a doll! She seemed to enjoy the service. She listened to Pastor Norsworthy and smiled as she met so many new people. We have her four month check up this week, so I let you know the "stats" after our visit. I think she will weigh in at over 20 pounds!
