First ride!

We have been lucky to have a friend loan us a sweet pony for ME. Tattoo was a lesson pony and now belongs to some friends in Montevallo. ME went for her first ride today and totally loved it! It was such a relief for me. I hope this continues because I would love to be able to ride with my little girl one day!

First helmet!

After our trip to the dentist we went by Alabama Blue Ribbon Tack to try and get ME her first riding helmet. It took some convincing, but once she had it on she really like it. She took a ride on the rocking horse and wore the hat to the car!

First "real" trip to the dentist

ME went to the dentist for an x-ray several months ago, but today was her first time to have her teeth cleaned. I cannot say enough good things about the pediatric dentist that was recommended to me. The office and staff are amazing. ME thought it was a terrfic adventure. She let the hygentist and dentist examine her teeth without any problems. She was nervous a few times but was easily distracted with other things. The office has a tradition of getting the handprints of new patients on ceiling tile with their name and first visit date. So the visit even ended with an "arts and crafts" activity. I hope she continues to think the dentist is a fun adventure!

Continued Beach Trip

Mike arrived Friday evening. We stayed on the beach for a bit, then headed back to the room. Mike got ME ready for bed while Elizabeth and I went in search of dinner. The girl is sleeping like a champ in her little tent! Sat. AM we headed to the beach where we stayed for most of the day. I put ME down for a nap and Elizabeth stayed with her so Mike and I could enjoy the beach. When the girl got up Elizabeth packed up and headed back home. It was a treat to have such a great babysitter at the beach for a few days! Mike, ME and I stayed at the beach then went to the pool and didn't make it back to the room until nearly 8. Sunday has been overcast, but nice. ME is catching a quick snooze then we will head out to enjoy our last day! When ME woke up she wanted to go to the pool, so off we went! We played in the water for about 2 hours the went back to the room for get ready for dinner. We all got showers and Mike went to pick up dinner. We ate great shrimp dinners and watched The Princess and the Frog. It was an early night for us and we didn't do a bit of packing! Monday AM we got up and on the road by 9 AM. ME watched her movies and was a good travel buddy. We were home by about 1:15. Mike went to work and I am unpacking, while the girl catches up on her Nck Jr shows!

Beach Trip 2010

Mary Elizabeth, Elizabeth and I headed to Perdido Key Thursday afternoon. The beaches are beautiful and the little girl is being a star! Mike will join us Friday afternoon!

Lunch date with JoJo

After ME and I went to vote today we dropped in at Pat and Jojo's house. It turns out that Pat was going to lunch with LuLu and some ladies from church, so ME and I hung out with Jojo for awhile. ME climbed in his lap and watched some television, then we went to Jack's for lunch. I really wish I had taken a camera! ME sat next to Jojo and would lay her head on his arm from time to time, then she took his hand and held his hand for the longest time while they were eating. Jojo rarely smiles very big or very often these days with all of his medical issues, but today he was all smiles and said it was the best day he has ever spent with ME!
